Lafayette CEO Thibault Adrien speaks at International Builder’s Show on Built-for-Rent
Orlando, FL – February 8, 2022 – Thibault Adrien, CEO, and Founder of Lafayette RE Management (“Lafayette”) spoke on February 8th at the International Builders’ Show (IBS) 2022 in Orlando, Florida. He was joined on the panel by Brad Hunter, President of Hunter Housing Economics, a market studies and consulting firm in residential real estate.
Thibault Adrien and Brad Hunter spoke on the trending topic “Build-for-Rent (BFR) Single Family: Optimizing Your Risk-Adjusted Returns.” The event was well-attended, with a filled room and insightful questions from the audience on how builders can engage in the BFR strategy. Mr. Adrien presented Lafayette’s flexibility in acquiring completed homes, finished lots, entitled, and raw land. Lafayette entered the build-to-rent business in 2019 by purchasing constructed homes from builders but has since taken on more development risks for opportunistic returns.
Despite double-digit construction costs, driven mainly by materials and labor costs, Lafayette has worked with builders to protect profitability for all parties.
