Our mission

Having pioneered the development of the professional single-family home rental (SFR) industry, we are on a mission to be the leading asset manager in the space.

About us

Our history

Lafayette RE LLC (“Lafayette”) was founded in 2011 by Thibault Adrien. Drawing on his real estate macro expertise and private equity investing experience, he saw a compelling opportunity in the single-family rental (SFR) asset class.

Lafayette’s first two funds executed on a distressed acquisition strategy, focusing exclusively on foreclosure sales. Building on Lafayette’s expertise in sourcing assets below market price and renovating homes at scale and below market costs, these first two funds generated strong risk-adjusted returns.

In 2013, at a time where inventory was high and home builders were capital-constrained, Lafayette expanded its scope and launched a land fund.

In 2014 Lafayette launched Brandywine Homes USA (“Brandywine) as a wholly-owned property management arm. Brandywine’s mission is to provide top-quality service to residents and enhance investor returns by more effectively managing maintenance costs and maximizing renewal rates.

In 2016 the firm started Lafayette Lending to invest in the Fix & Flip lending space, leveraging its hands-on expertise as single-family investor and property manager to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns.

As the SFR asset class matures, Lafayette is focused more than ever on cash flows, through its lending strategies, the acquisition of sub-scaled single-family homes portfolios and of single-family built-for-rent communities.

Our people

Our team comprises 20 people in New York along with 28 professionals in our local markets for property management. Lafayette also works hand-in-hand with a network of experienced local acquisition/due diligence teams and licensed vendors across its geographies.
